Summer Reading Fun for All Ages

Celebrate summer at your your library with reading programs for kids, teens and adults!

Stop by one of our locations to cool off and check out some books for your summer reading pleasure. Keep track of your summer reading - and be eligible for prizes -  in one of our summer reading programs:

Summer Reading Club (ages 0 - 6th grade)
Children from pre-school age through the 6th grade are invited to visit library locations, keep track of their summer reading and participate in programs and activities. Those who meet weekly reading goals will earn rewards and entries into prize drawings.

Teen Summer Reading (grades 7-12)
Teens are invited to keep a record of the number of pages read in a Summer Reading Log, play Summer Library Bingo and attend various YA programs to be eligible to win really great prizes.

Participants will read books from categories listed on a BINGO card. Each BINGO competed earns the reader an entry into a drawing for the Grand Prize. A full card = 12 BINGO entries!

Book and Movie Bingo (Bookmobile and Outreach)
Adults who visit the bookmobile or receive Homebound services through MPL’s Outreach Department have their own chance to win prizes for reading or viewing movies over the summer. Participants choose a Bingo card with either various kinds of books to read or types of movies to watch.  At the end of the summer, every Bingo a person has will earn one entry into a drawing for either a book-related or film-related grand prize.  A full card will get 12 entries!  This is a great opportunity to try new authors or expand viewing habits.  Deadline to turn cards in is August 28th.
