Synopsis:
This movie is about returning World War II veterans and the
problems they face as they re-enter civilian life. A poignant, realistic look at
life after war -- both for the soldiers and those they left behind.
I would recommend this movie!
Why?
As the war in Iraq seems to be nearing an end, and soldiers come home, this
undeservedly forgotten movie (winner of 7 Academy Awards) is still very relevant
in our time.
I confess I haven't watched this movie for years, but what prompted me
to re-examine it is a very good article called "Storming the Home Front" in the
March 2003 Atlantic Monthly.
Additional information about this movie:
This movie is based on the book
Glory for Me by MacKinlay Kantor.
