It's easy to get a library card. Adults must present proper identification, and
children under eighteen years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign the library card
application. Library Staff will be happy to assist you with this procedure the next time you visit the Library.
There is no charge for your first library card. If you should lose your card and need a replacement,
there is a 50 cent replacement card fee. If your lost card had outstanding fines still on record, these
fines will have to be paid before a new card can be issued.
Your library card is your ticket to a world of information. With it you may check out books, magazines,
music, videos, DVDs and books on tape from any department or branch of the Massillon Public Library system.
One of the tenants of the Library's Mission Statement is freedom
of information. Therefore, the Library does not place any age restrictions on what can be borrowed with
a library card. The Library encourages families to use the collection together and determine their own rules
and guidelines for the information the family selects.
A card from the Massillon Public Library may also be used at the Stark
County District Library snd the Louisville Public Library. The materials in these libraries'
collections are searchable through the online catalog. If you
need materials from another library, you can utilize
our Interlibrary Loan services to have those
materials delivered to a library near you.
Your library card also provides you with free access to several exceptional research databases from the
comfort of your home computer. For more information about these databases,
