The Massillon Public Library strives to maintain as large and diverse a collection as space and budget
constraints permit, but there will be times when we do not have the specific item you seek. When this
happens, your Library will be glad to search for your item and allow you to borrow it through a process
we call
Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
Most of the time Interlibrary Loan is a free service for you. There
are minimal reproduction fees assessed for photocopies of articles from magazines and journals, and
occasionally there may be charges if an item is unusually difficult to locate and must be borrowed from
a library that charges us a fee.
ILL requests are for materials that are not available for online hold from our
online catalog.
Please look for your item in that catalog first. If you find your item, follow the directions
on the screen for placing the item on hold. The online catalog allows you to place holds on materials from the Massillon Public Library, the Stark County District Library and the Louisville Public Library.
If your item is NOT in the online catalog - or if it belongs to a library that will not allow you to place an online hold - you may initiate an ILL request:
- If you are requesting a book, video, CD, cassette or DVD use this form
- If you are requesting a specific magazine or journal article, use this form.
Note:
If you are not looking for a specific article, you should use one of our
Research Databases to conduct a keyword search for the subject you are researching.
