Public Internet Access

Public Internet access is available in the Computer Center and the Children's Department of the Massillon Public Library. Because Internet use is an extremely popular service, it is best to make an appointment ahead of time if you wish to use the Library computers. Computers may be reserved for one-hour time slots by contacting the Computer Center at 330-832-9831 ext. 327 or the Children's Department at 330-832-5037.

The Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN) has provided Ohio public libraries with access to several outstanding databases. Most of these resources are accessible from outside of the Library, but a few of them can only be used from computers inside our building. Even Internet users who have access from computers elsewhere may be interested in using the Library's public access service to utilize the restricted databases. For more information about the databases and access instructions, visit this page.

Because the machines are located in public view, there are a few rules to follow when using the Library computers. A summary of what may and may not be done on the public access machines can be found here. The full-text of the Library's entire Internet Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) may be found here.

Pages may be printed at $.15 each for black and white and $.50 for color. Floppy disks, CDs and flash drives may also be purchased at low cost.

If you have any questions about public internet access, contact the Computer Center at 330-832-9831 ext. 327, or send email to mpl.ref@gmail.com.
