On Saturday, August 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Massillon Genealogy Society will host a Triennial Genealogy Fair at St. Barbara Parish Hall, 2813 Lincoln Way NW, in Massillon.
Some of the highlights at this year’s Genealogy Fair include computer searching demonstrations, a variety of local history displays, including an extensive Massillon postcard collection and a sizeable compilation of Massillon memorabilia. Representatives from local township historical societies, the Union Cemetery and the Daughters of the American Revolution will be on hand to offer valuable research resources. All of these resources and so much more will be available. There will also be hourly drawings for exciting giveaways.
This fair is hosted by the Massillon Genealogy Society every three years, so if you miss it this year, you will have to wait another three years to learn everything new and exciting in genealogy research -- it's too much fun to wait that long!
Admission and parking are free, and donations will be accepted to help defray expenses. If you have any questions, contact Jean Adkins at 330.832.9831 ext 337.
As always, the Massillon Genealogy Society invites the public to its monthly meetings.
