Jazz Concert

On Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. the MPL Core Jazz Band will present another live concert at the Massillon Senior Center, 39 Lincoln Way West, in Massillon. This popular concert series, sponsored by the Massillon Public Library, is free and open to the public. This will be the last concert of 2013.

The first half of the concert will consist of traditional New Orleans jazz featuring trumpet, clarinet, trombone, violin, drums, bass, piano, ukulele, banjo and a vocalist. The second half is open to musicians, young and old, who want to sit in and jam with the band.  The MPL Core Jazz Band, considered by some as Massillon’s best kept secret, consists of outstanding musicians who play in bands around the area. Most of the musicians have years of experience playing traditional and swing music, while some are slightly newer to the craft.

On-street parking, as well as two-hour free parking on the parking deck behind the Senior Center building is available to the public.  Handicap parking is also available on street level beneath the parking deck.   Attendees may enter the rear of the building from the parking deck. The Friends of Massillon Public Library will provide free light refreshments.
