We have a collection of online resources
to help with your search!
There is free help if you are seeking employment, changing careers or looking to improve your employability. The Massillon Public Library can lend you books on resume-writing and interviewing. The library can provide you free computer access to search and apply for jobs and regularly presents computer classes. The library provides access to Learning Express, a subscription service that allows you to take free computer training and test preparation online and to Ohio Career Information System which allows you to match your skills to jobs and to search for financial aid.
(For access to the Ohio Career Information System, visit this page.)
We also provide referrals to other organizations in the county where you will find the most help. We strongly believe that the services at The Employment Source should be familiar to all our customers. The Employment Source connects job seekers with employers by providing numerous resources such as career assessment, resume-writing workshops and job postings in a single location. It is a free service made possible through funds provided by the U.S. Department of Labor and operated locally by the Workforce Investment Board, the Stark and Tuscarawas County Commissioners and the Mayor of the City of Canton.
“The library is pleased to collaborate with The Employment Source to help make the public aware of these valuable resources,” Head of Reference Services Sherie Brown said. “We frequently direct patrons who come into our main library location seeking employment assistance to that agency, and we want our patrons to be aware of the wonderful resources and support that's out there. Many are not aware that the services are available free of charge.”
