Being able to talk face to face with popular authors, ask specific questions, and hear firsthand about their inspiration for writing is the dream of every book lover. However, because best-selling authors have pressing writing schedules and many long-distance obligations, they are not able to spend as much face time with their readers as they would like. The Massillon Public Library's Virtual Author Visit Series changes all of this!
With the help of a web cam, a projector screen, and Skype, a software application that allows users to conduct phone calls and video conferences over the Internet, authors will be able to chat with our patrons from the comfort of their own homes.
Virtual author visits coincide with the Massillon Public Library's Monday Night Book Club selections. The book club meets on the third Monday of each month in the second-floor gallery of the library at 6PM, and each virtual author visit will take place during these meetings. Registration is required, admission is free, and new members are always encouraged to attend.
