HOURS AVAILABLE 

NOTE:  The Library is looking for a candidate to fill the remaining two time slots as one ten (10) hour/week position. 

(1)  Monday        10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.   (5 hours) (FILLED)

(2)  Monday         1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.    (6 hours) (includes 1 hour unpaid meal time) (FILLED)

(3)  Tuesday         1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.    (6 hours) (includes 1 hour unpaid meal time) (FILLED)

(4)  Wednesday   10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  (5 hours) (FILLED) 

(5)   Wednesday    2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.    (4 hours) 

(6)   Friday            10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (6 hours) (includes 1 hr unpaid mealtime) (FILLED) 

(7)   Saturday       10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (6 hours) (includes 1 hr unpaid mealtime)

RATE OF PAY:  $7.30/hour.                                                                     NON-EXEMPT, HOURLY 

TRAINING PERIOD:  Up to twelve (12) weeks.  Improvement must be shown throughout training for continued employment through full twelve (12) week period.

BENEFITS:  Employee will earn General Leave and Sick Leave from first day of employment.  Successful completion of training period required before leave is available for use by employee.  General leave will be either Unpaid or Paid Leave dependent on actual Regular hours/week.  Sick leave will be Paid Leave.  Employee will also be eligible for some Paid holidays following successful completion of training.
QUALIFICATIONS: 

Eighteen (18) years of age or older. 

Reliable transportation for getting to work.  Working telephone. 

Criminal background check is required to be completed post-offer.  Results of background check may affect employment status.

                                                                                                                                           

 

 

 

 


 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

Skills…

English language oral and written communication skills sufficient for work with supervisor, other staff, and patrons.

Good visual skills.

General math.

Good reading and comprehension of English language.

Basic computer/word processing and Internet/e-mail skills.

Handle physical aspects of position which include, but are not limited to: standing, moving, reaching, bending, climbing/descending steps, and manual dexterity required for computer work, and lifting up to 35 lbs.  Ability to push/pull loaded book carts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Shelves library materials.

Maintains order and appearance of all shelved materials, display racks, etc., for department.  This includes shifting materials, as needed.

Clears library materials from tables.

Clears book drop.

Assists with pulling materials for reserves.

Assists with sorting and packing of library materials received and sent by delivery services.

Assists with building closing tasks, which includes turning off computers and copiers.

Assists with book displays.

Assist with basic circulation desk duties, occasionally.

OTHER DUTIES: 

Attend meetings, as required.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
