On Monday, September 20, at 6:00 p.m. the Massillon Public Library Monday Night Book Club invites readers to attend a virtual author visit with novelist Liz Rosenberg. Author of Home Repair, Ms. Rosenberg will interact directly with attendees, via web cam, in the library’s Second Floor Meeting Room.
"Can lighting really strike twice? Just ask Eve. Her first beloved husband, Ivan, died thirteen years ago in an automobile accident, then her charming, boyish husband, Chuck, has taken a different exit out of her life — hopping into his car in the middle of a garage sale, with no forewarning, and departing their formerly happy upstate New York home for points unknown. Eve is a boat left adrift, subsisting on heartbreak and disappointment. Abandoned to care for Ivan's brilliant teenaged son, Marcus, and Chuck's precocious, pragmatic nine-year-old daughter, Noni, she must also contend with Charlotte, her acerbic mother, who has come north to "help," but hinders instead. A poignant, lovely, funny, and ultimately uplifting story of love, family, and survival, Liz Rosenberg's Home Repair is an unforgettable introduction to a lyrical, wise, and wonderfully vibrant new literary voice."
