House History Class

The Library will host a House History Class on Saturday, September 18 from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Meeting Room.

If walls could talk, surely they would divulge the secrets behind those intriguing details in and around your home. Although your walls are doomed to silence, many of the building’s details can construct the answers you seek.

This class will teach you how to unravel the history of your home using maps, city directories, photographs, manuscript collections, architectural periodicals and state archive records. The house you are researching must be within the Massillon city limits. Registration is required and can be done at the library's Reference Desk. There is a $10 REFUNDABLE fee needed to reserve your place in the class, as it is limited to 8 participants. If you attend, your fee will be returned to you the day of the class.

For more information, contact Jean Adkins at 330-832-9831 ext. 337.

The Massillon Public Library is located at 208 Lincoln Way East. The library's Second Street entrance is wheelchair accessible.
