The April monthly meeting of the
Massillon Genealogical Society will
be held on
Wednesday, April 2nd from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Massillon Public Library
auditorium, 208 Lincoln Way East.
The Genealogy Society will host guest speaker, Arthur DeMatteo, PhD, Professor of History at Glenville
State College in Virginia. Dr. DeMatteo will present "The General Takes Charge in Massillon: The brief, tumultuous mayoralty of Jacob S. Coxey." Twice Jacob Coxey led marches of unemployed men from Massillon, Ohio to Washington, DC demanding that the United States Congress designate funds intended to create jobs for the unemployed.
The Genealogy Society welcomes the public to its meetings and programs.
