The Cultural Diversity Committee of the Massillon Public Library will offer a Minority Health Fair on
Saturday, April 28, from 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1111 – 3rd St. SE. This is a part
of the committee’s Community Outreach Project and major sponsors of the event
are
Affinity Medical Center,
American Heart Association,
and
American Stroke Association.
The event will feature hearing and vision screenings, blood pressure checks, Praise and Pilates exercise
class, taught by Cenell Mumford Clark, a certified exercise physiologist, featuring the dance group Sister Steps.
There will be a Diabetes talk by Larry Fisher, R.N. with Affinity Medical Center, Prostate Health lecture by
Dr. Lewis Humble, M.D. in Internal Medicine, and a Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention lecture by Dr. Brian E.
Simmons, M.D., Cardiologist and Associate Professor at NEOUCOM.
Booths featuring health information will be on display. Among the exhibitors will be Affinity Medical Center,
American Heart Association, Bayer Healthcare Diabetes Division, and Stark County Hospice.
Free lunch will be served. Sign-in and registration will be held throughout the day and door prizes will be given.
