Library Announces Winners of Poetry Contest

In celebration of National Poetry Month, the Massillon Public Library announces the winners of their recent poetry contest:

  • Daniel Berens, age 11, children's winner for his poem "Missing"
  • Kayla Murphy, age 15, teen winner for her poem "Do I...?"
  • Sharon Sailer Andrews, the winner in the adult age group, for her poem "Celestial Revisions"

    Duane Matthew Dodson, a local, published poet, and full-time faculty member at Stark State College of Technology, was the judge.

    The winners received iPods, generously donated by the Junior Friends of the Massillon Public Library. In addition, the winners were honored during the library's Poetry Read-In on April 8th.

    Original poetry that was submitted has been printed in the FIRST EVER Massillon Public Library Patron Booklet of Poetry.
