The Children's Department of the Massillon Public Library begins its Summer Reading
Program on Monday, June 2. This year's theme, "Catch the Reading Bug," will involve
children from preschool through 6th grade in a variety of activities about bugs of
all kinds.
Schedules for the June and July events are available
now in the Children's Department, and also from the Bookmobile, the Pam S. Belloni
Branch in Brewster and the Barry Askren Branch in Navarre. The Bookmobile and branch
libraries will also be offering events and special activities.

official book bag, Reading Record and more. Join us for crafts, games and science
observation stations all with a "buggy" theme. Summer Reading Program runs for six
weeks. Children may join any time June 2nd or after.
Those children who join as either an independent Reader or as a Read-To-Me will receive
specially decorated plastic book bags, filled with a set of instructions about the club,
Reading Records, activity sheets, bookmarks, stickers and temporary tattoos. Each week,
a special reward will be given to those children who have met a predetermined goal of
time spent reading or listening to stories read to them by someone else. There will
