On
Saturday, August 16, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.,
the
Massillon Genealogical Society will host a
Triennial Genealogy
Fair. Because this event attracts so many people, the library auditorium can no longer
accommodate it. Wesley United Methodist Church, at the corner of Main and 17th
Streets, S. W. in Massillon is the location for the Fair this year.
Some of the highlights of this year's Genealogy Fair will be computer searching
demonstrations, great local history displays, local township historical societies,
representatives of the Union Cemetery, numerous nationality displays, access to the
Latter Day Saints library, history of the Ohio and Erie Canal, Daughters of the
American Revolution and so much more! There will also be hourly drawings for
exciting giveaways.
This fair is hosted by the Massillon Genealogy Society every three years, so if
you miss it this year, you will have to wait another three years to learn everything
new and exciting in genealogy research - it's too much fun to wait that long! Admission
and parking are free, and donations will be accepted to help defray expenses.
If you have any questions, contact
Jean Adkins at 330.832.9831 ext 337.
