Title: Welcome to My Planet: Where English Is Sometimes Spoken
Author: Shannon Olson
type of book: Women's Fiction
call number: Fic
|
This book is strong in character.
Summary:
Shannon Olson (the main character, not the author), is unhappy with her
life. She has a job she doesn't like, a love life that needs to be finished and
started over again, credit card debt up to her ears and no real direction. So,
she moves back home with her parents, applies for grad school and finally breaks
off the relationship with her boyfriend. But things keep plodding along pretty
much as before
I would NOT recommend this book!
Why not?
I couldn't really get into this book. I felt like the main character (also
named Shannon Olson) has a bad case of middle child syndrome and probably has
ADD as well. The therapist Shannon was going to didn't seem to help much, or
pay attention to her.
I chose this book to read because the title was interesting. I wish I would
have skipped it and found something better.
