type of book: Fiction
call number: Fic
|
This book is strong in character and story.
Summary:
This is an intriguing story about a wishing jar with supposed magical
powers, and a family motto handed down through five generations of Quinn women.
The story revolves around three of the Quinn family women representing the last
three generations. The Quinn women are known for their strength and for living
up to the family motto: "Purity of heart and faithfulness of soul." At this
point in their lives, Edith, Abby and Neal Grace feel far from strong and have
long given up believing in wishes coming true. Edith's stroke, Abby's loss of
her husband in a traffic accident, and her daughter, Neal Grace's struggle in
dealing with the loss of her father and her grandmother's illness has turned
their previously happy lives into ashes. Suddenly, without warning, a series of
events brings changes for each of them causing them to search their hearts and
minds and come to terms with their lives while discovering the true symbolism of the wishing jar.
I would recommend this book!
