This book is strong in character, story and setting.
Summary:
A young boy found guilty of stealing a celebrity's shoes is sent to
Camp Green Lake where he and other juveniles are required to dig holes each day
although they are not sure why.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
This book is not only fun for young adults to read, since it reflects the
feelings of young boys, but also helps adults understand teenage boys' feelings
and emotions. The author does a good job of tying the main character's past and
present together to a logical conclusion. It also pokes fun at controlling
adults who have only their own needs in mind, not those of their young charges.
I saw the movie and with one exception, it followed the book closely.
