This book is strong in
character, story and setting.
Summary:
Mac McFarland is a down and out reporter recently divorced, out of work,
broke and living in a decrepit house on Cape Cod in the dead of winter.
When Mac's dog accidentally stumbles upon the body of his wealthy neighbor, his
instincts as a reporter kick in. Along the way he meets a crazy cast of
characters that live in the little town of North Walpole, Massachusetts, finds
a new love and helps solve the crime.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
This book is fast moving and the characters are well developed. I especially
enjoyed all the quirky people he meets and eventually becomes friends with in
this little town. Any one who has grown up in small town where everyone knows
everyone will relate to the goofy and sometimes strange personalities Mac
encounters while trying to solve this murder.
Additional information about this book:
The sequel to this book is Death at the Cut which is also set in
Cape Cod and has many of the same characters.
