These books are strong in character, story and setting.
Summary:
Although all the books are linked with reappearing characters, Druid lore and magic, time travel, and
medieval Scotland settings, the MacKeltar twins' adventures (Drustan and Daegus)
in Kiss of the Highlander and The Dark Highlander are my personal favorites.
The forces of good and evil, the passionate romances between the heroes and
heroines, and the influences of the Tuatha De Danaan and Druid power make these
two novels in particular very hard to put down. The total polarities of the
mysterious Tuatha character Adam Black can be seen in the novels Beyond the
Mist, The Highlander's Touch, and The Dark Highlander.
I would recommend these books!
Why?
Overall, all of Moning's Highland Mist novels contain interesting and
compelling plots, well researched, authentic feeling settings, non-stereotypical
main characters, and plenty of passionate encounters. It was hard to stop
reading each novel, especially when starting the next in the series was highly
anticipated. I eagerly await Moning's next Highland romance, The Immortal
Highlander.
The historical information particularly made the medieval Scotland settings feel
real, like learning about Robert the Bruce, the Templar Order of Knights, the
Berserkers (unbeatable warriors with unheard of skill, such as William Wallace), Druid
lore and rituals, and possible origins of the Tuatha. Using some interesting
historical facts, Moning's imagination created a world of her own filled with
touches of myth and magic.
