Title: A Short History of Nearly Everything
Author: Bill Bryson
type of book: History
call number: 500/Bry
|
This book is strong in
story.
Summary:
Bryson takes hard scientific concepts like atomic theory, space theory,
evolution and genetics and creates a mosaic of interesting comparison and
anecdote that makes these difficult, but terribly important, concepts easy enough
for an english major to grasp.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
Have you ever wondered why the moon doesn't fall right into the earth, how
atoms stick together, why Mars is red, or what REALLY happened to the dinosaurs?
Bryson's book explains all these fascinating questions and more in a funny,
straightforward and illuminating way that will have you looking at the world
around in a whole new light.
