Summary:
Thirteen men from Engine 40, Ladder 35 firehouse responded to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Only one survived. This gripping book details the actions of the men that horrible day and the aftermath, including the search for bodies and the guilt and conflicting emotions felt by the surviving members of the firehouse.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
The book is moving without being manipulative. Pictures of each man are on the back cover - you find yourself flipping back to look as the book talks about them. It brings the tragedy down to a very personal level.
