Title: Again The Magic
Author: Lisa Kleypas
type of book: Historical Romance
call number: Fic

This book is strong in story and setting.
Summary:
Lady Aline Marsden and John McKenna have loved each other their whole
lives. There is only one problem, she comes from an old and respected noble
bloodline and he is the bastard son of no one knows and is employed by her
father (owner of Stony Cross) as a stable hand. When Aline's father learns of
their affair, he wants to destroy McKenna. Aline makes her father promise to do
nothing; she will make sure he goes away. Lady Aline knows there is only way to
do this . . . make McKenna believe her love was not real and a game. McKenna leaves
devastated.
Soon after leaving, Aline is severely injured and lives her life as an aging
spinster at Stony Cross. It is twelve years later and McKenna has made himself
a fortune in America. He has come back to Stony Cross for revenge. Not knowing
the truth, his goal in
life is to make Aline suffer as he has suffered for twelve years.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
This modernized version of tragic young love divided by social class is
reminiscent of Wuthering Heights but with less absolute havoc. It will leave
readers crying and knowing just how wonderful a master romance writer Kleypas
is.
