Title: Highlander Unbound
Author: Julia London
type of book: Historical Romance
call number: Fic

This book is strong in story and setting.
Summary:
On leave from his Royal Highland regiment, Liam comes to London to reclaim a
beastie, a family heirloom worth enough money to save his family's estate. Liam
finds lodging at Lord Farnsworth's house and begins to implement his plan by
infiltrating the English Lockharts. Liam did not expect to fall in love with
Ellen Farnsworth and her imaginative daughter Natalie.
Ellen lives her life as a shut in, still being punished by her father because of
a passionate mistake from her youth. From their first chance encounter to their
first secret dinner together, their passions are stirred. Liam, however, is
bound by his duty to the army and his family. Ellen feels even more trapped as
she begins to live and hope again . . . as well as planning to escape her father,
using Liam's beastie.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
It is a good plot driven Regency with steamy, passionate scenes. The
conversation exchanges between Natalie and Liam and Ellen and Liam are humorous
and lighthearted. Those who enjoy reading Lisa Kleypas and Karen Marie Moning
will love reading this romance novel. It is left open-ended for a sure to follow
sequel about the Lockhart family.
