Title: The Reluctant Suitor
Author: Kathleen E. Woodiwiss
type of book: Historical Romance
call number: Fic
|
This book is strong in story and setting.
Summary:
This is a story of childhood betrothal and if parents can be right in
deciding for their children.
Colton Wyndham refuses to accept the betrothal to
a young, not very promising looking girl, who is best friends with his younger
sister. He leaves England to fight in the military during the Napoleonic Wars.
Upon hearing about the death of his father, Colton feels responsible for his
family and returns home to accept the title of Marquess of Randwulf.
When he sees his betrothed, Lady Adriana Sutton -- now the most sought after noble
woman, he thinks he might have to change his mind. However, he still believes a
couple needs to know each other and have chemistry in order to have a happy
marriage, not just a signed contract between two families. Besides his stubborn
pride, Colton has another problem to overcome; Adriana is determined not to love
him again as she did in the past, since his refusal of their betrothal
hurt her deeply as a child.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
This has an adventuresome plot with many twists and characters that make it
difficult for the couple to find real feelings for each other.
