This book is strong in character and story.
Summary:
This is the second in a series about the adventures of Max Holt,
millionaire & ladies man. This time, Max travels to Beaumont, South Carolina,
where his sister, Deedee and her husband, a former pro wrestler turned
politician, live. He meets Jamie Swift, the editor of the struggling local
newspaper of which he is a silent partner. When the newspaper office is damaged
by a drive-by shooting and his sister's house is torched, Max suspects the local good old boys running the town are trying to discourage the election of a new mayor. Max and his smart-alec car/computer Muffin, try to unravel the truth with Jamie tagging along.
I might recommend this book.
Why?
If you enjoy Janet Evanovich's books, you should like this one. It is
light reading and is humorous at times. I particularly enjoyed the exchanges
between Max and Muffin, the computer that operates his car.
