Title: When In Rome: A Novel of Piazzas and Passion
Author: Gemma Townley
type of book: Romance / Chick Lit
call number: PB/ROM
|
This book is strong in character, story and setting.
Summary:
Georgie is a research writer at a legal publishing company and is dating the
perfect but sometimes boring David, an investigative fraud accountant. Georgie
is still holding a flame for Mike Marshall, the charming and gorgeous man who
dumped her by leaving a note on the kitchen table. It's been two years; Mike
shows back up and asks Georgie to accompany him to Rome - the very place David
has always promised they would go but that he is always too busy to take her.
Georgie thinks Mike has matured and wants her back. David turns up in Rome to
give her the "Roman Holiday" royal treatment like Audrey Hepburn. Georgie finds herself wondering why both men are conducting business in
Rome and sets herself to uncover the mystery.
I might recommend this book.
Why?
Georgie is witty and her plight
through romantic relationships and other relationships is interesting and fun to
read about, even though she is a little hard to like as a person at times in the
story.
