This book is strong in character, story, language and setting.

    Summary:
Grimm's fairy tale, "Rose Red and Snow White," has been masterfully rewritten as a novel for the adult reader.

The Widow Arden and her two daughters, Blanche and Rosamund, live near the edge of the forest where the lands of Faerie meet with those of the mortal world. When one of the half-mortal sons of the Faerie Queen is enchanted and tossed out of Faerie, the widow and her daughters find themselves caught up in a series of events involving the Faerie world and its magic, and the magic of the mortal world.

The time is Elizabethan England, and witch hunting is very popular. Will there be a happy ending to this fairy tale?

    I would recommend this book!

    Why?
Wonderfully written, with strong characters, beautiful setting, language true to the time period and, of course, based in a classic story, this book exceeded my expectations. Any adult who loved to read Grimm's or other fairy tales as a child would enjoy this novel based on one of the stories.

Other interesting information about this book:
This is from a series of books of classic fairy tales rewritten for an adult audience.
