Summary:
Laura Spelman, in her early 60's, learns she has inoperable lung cancer and refuses chemotherapy and radiation. She sets out to meet death on her own terms and discovers there are conflicts which must be settled between herself and her mother and her own daughter, and a rich love to be affirmed yet again with Ella, a girlhood friend.
