This book is strong in
language.
Summary:
The author takes the reader through the history of the English
language, from its beginnings as the language of peasants to what we speak
today, using hilarious examples along the way.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
Being interesting in linguistics, I thought this book would only be
informative. After reading it, I couldn't help but tell anyone who would listen
(and a few that probably didn't want to) about this exquisitely written account
of the English language. I wish my college linguistics professor would have
used this book in class! More students would have appreciated the course.
