These books are strong in character, story, language and setting.

    Summary:
This trilogy tells the story of Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Merry Brandybuck, Pippin Took (hobbits), Legolas (elf), Gimli (dwarf), and Gandalf (wizard). There are various other characters - both good and bad - such as Saruman (bad wizard) and Sauron (dark lord).

Young hobbit, Frodo Baggins, inherits the Ring of Power. The Dark Lord Sauron seeks for his ring. Frodo, with the help of Gandalf the wizard and Frodo's hobbit friends, Sam, Merry, and Pippin, set off to destroy the ring. Aragorn, the self exiled future King of Gondor, pledges his support and life to help Frodo complete his quest. All of the Fellowship, and all of those who help any of its members, face great hardship and peril. Sauron and his minions are intent on getting back the Ring of Power. All members of the Fellowship and their allies must endure much pain, conflict, and testing of courage.

    I would recommend these books!

    Why?
There is no better written or popular fantasy adventure than Tolkien's. Slightly older teens who like Harry Potter will definitely enjoy these books. Also, the fact that it is now a motion picture will make the books even more accessible to teen readers, especially girls and boys who are not already avid readers. The movie tie-in aspect is a wonderful way for readers to gain access to this story since it is a hefty, detailed read, (but so is Harry Potter).
