This book is strong in character and story.
Summary:
Alice Sebold, author of The Lovely Bones, writes of how her life was
transformed by her brutal rape at age 18. She describes the process of making
her life seem normal, going through the trial and how the rape affects her
family and friends.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
This book was amazing. The author minces no words when describing the rape
and how it affected her life. After reading this book, I can understand more
why The Lovely Bones was so well written. The author has experience with some
of the events.
Sebold's open, honest style of writing is amazing -- something that is missing
from many memoirs. She seems to hold nothing back as she describes life after
rape.
* A warning to those who do not like reading books with violence: the author is
very descriptive when writing about the rape.
