Title: What No One Tells the Bride
Author: Marg Stark
type of book: Non-Fiction
call number: 306.872/STA

This book is strong in language.
Summary:
The subtitle to this book is:
Surviving the Wedding, Sex after the Honeymoon, Second Thoughts, Wedding Cake
Freezer Burn, Becoming Your Mother, Screaming about In-Laws, Maintaining Your
Identity and Being Blissfully Happy Despite It All.
That pretty much sums it up! Read about other brides who have come to terms
with married life not being all wine and roses, and their suggestions for making
marriage work.
The author states in the beginning that this book is written for a female
audience. Grooms can get a lot out of this book as well, but it is the brides who
will be nodding along in agreement as they read.
Would I recommend this book? YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
Why?
Whether you are engaged to be married or have been married for 50 years, I think
this book is beneficial.
Wedding planning is not always enjoyable. The first year of marriage is the
hardest (so I have heard - I've gotten through 6 months so far!). But most
people will not tell you that, instead telling you how wonderful it all is.
This book helped me to feel better, since reading it proved to me that I am not
the only one who has felt overwhelmed, overworked and just plain crazy over
planning a wedding and being a newlywed.
