    -- This set provides information on 500 cultures of the world and covers 20 areas of daily life such as clothing, food, language, and religion.

  • CultureGrams (2 vols) - REF 306/ Cul 2001 v.1 or v.2
    -- This set educates the reader in the daily customs and lifestyles of over 170 countries. Food, marriage and dating, and social etiquettes are included.

  • World Almanac and Book of Facts - REF 310/ Wor 2004
    -- Use this book to gain basic facts about a country like population, area, and major cities.

  • World Book Encyclopedia (22 vols) - REF 031/Wor 2004
    -- There are articles with maps and photos for all the nations of the world. Find articles using the index or by using the alphabetical volume covering the official name of the country being researched. Information like population, government, history, agriculture, and language is found in these articles.
    Note: Older editions can be checked out from the library, only the most current year must remain in the library as a reference resource.

    • Choose ELECTRONIC ATLAS for maps of population, language, climate, environment, and historical categories among others.
    • Choose ENCYCLOPEDIA for articles about each continent and some specific information for major countries on the continents.
    • Choose CROSS CULTURE to compare two countries in a side by side format on sections like land and climate, people, economy, history, and facts and figures (basic country information like population and government, etc.)
    • Choose ALMANAC to gain basic facts about a country like population, area, and major cities, as well as information about each country's flag.

    -- This government web site provides a general overview for each country, and then gives more specific information in such categories as geography, people, government, economy, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues. Unique and interesting information such as the ages and gender for military service or the number of televisions and telephones in each country is available for most countries.
