I would recommend this book!

Why?
This book is not only fun for young adults to read, since it reflects the feelings of young boys, but also helps adults understand teenage boys' feelings and emotions. The author does a good job of tying the main character's past and present together to a logical conclusion. It also pokes fun at controlling adults who have only their own needs in mind, not those of their young charges.

Other interesting information about this book:
This has been made into a movie that, with one exception, followed the book closely.
