This book is strong in character and story.
Summary:
Georgia lives with her mom, two aunts, and Grandma. Five generations
of women can fly in her family. She lives in a big house ruled by Grandma, who
is very mean and strict, and where there will be no men and no meat anywhere
around. Georgia will only be allowed to fly at night and only be allowed to fly
alone after her initiation at 16 yrs old. Later in the book, Aunt Carmen, who
was banished because she broke Grandma's rules, comes for an uninvited visit
and causes all kinds of trouble. Most importantly, Georgia discovers a secret about the family that is really about Georgia herself.
