I would recommend this book!

Why?
This series is the male companion series of Ewing's popular "Daughters of the Moon" series. This story has a gritty, urban feel to it while at the same time creating an interesting fantasy world of magic, conflict, and adventure. The characters feel very real and readers can identify with their problems of teenage life.
