cover Title: Vegan Virgin Valentine
Author: Carolyn Mackler

type of book: YA Fiction
call number: YA/FIC

This book is strong in character and story.

Summary:
Mara is the perfect child and believes her late life birth is because her parents wanted a second chance to make up for her older loser sister. V is sent to live with Mara's family when the loser mother goes off with yet another man. V is promiscuous, dope smoking, and foul mouthed - which aggravates the strait-laced, perfect Mara.

I would recommend this book!

Why?
Lessons are learned on both sides. V turns Mara's world upside down and opens her mind to all of life's possibilities, especially a romance with her 22 year old boss. Mara influences V's life in better ways, showing her people can care about each other and how to have some self respect, as well as working hard to develop her acting abilities.
