Title: First French Kiss and Other Traumas
Author: Adam Bagdasarian
type of book: YA Fiction
call number: YA/FIC
|
This book is strong in character and story.
Summary:
This book is a collection of short stories about Will
and his relationship with his brother and father and how his father made him who
he is today - a writer and good person. The stories cover Will's point of view on
the many happenings in his life from ages five to twenty. It starts with him as
a 12 year old at his first boy/girl party and his first real kiss and first
French kiss (very slobbery and wet) with Maggie, a childhood friend and sweetheart.
The collection of stories ends with a moving day a few years after
his father's death, when the family moves out of their home and all go to live
separate lives and make new homes for themselves.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
Each story is self-contained and can be read separately and quickly.
Sometimes sad and sometimes funny, these stories are really moving and make
readers feel like they know the author as well as make readers remember things
about themselves.
