Title: What Became of Her
Author: M. E. Kerr
type of book: Young Adult Fiction
call number: YA/Fic
|
Summary:
The main character in this book is Edgar Tobbit. He meets a girl, Julie, who
is the niece of Mrs. Slaymaster, the "crazy" old rich lady who has a leather doll
(Peale) as a best friend. Edgar soon also meets Neal, and they become
friends.
Little by little Edgar learns why Peale is so important to Mrs.
Slaymaster and why she is kind of crazy. What happens if Neal does something
mean? Is Edgar responsible for the actions of his friends? And what
happens if Mr. Peale gets hurt?
I would recommend this book!
Why?
The book makes you wonder what you would do if you met a reclusive old lady who has conversations and dinner with a puppet doll named Mr. Peale . . .
