This book is strong in character and story.

Summary:
8th grader and secret chef Bertie (aka Aunt Bertha by Nick the bully) wants to go to the Culinary Institute of America, wants his parents to pay attention to him, wants his teacher to pass him into high school not torture him with the flour sack baby extra credit project, wants the cute girl (Indra) to like him, and he wants to become the most famous chef ever. Not too many wishes, right?

I might recommend this book.

Why?
This book is a nice short and fast read. Bertie is a likeable character and sees life in a funny way. His daily trials in school and at home will keep readers turning the pages to find out if any of his desires are fulfilled, especially if he can keep the flour sack baby alive and away from the hands of Nick the bully.
