Title: The Second Summer of the Sisterhood
Author: Ann Brashares
type of book: YA Fiction
call number: YA/FIC
|
This book is strong in character, story and setting.
Summary:
In this sequel, the girls are once again off on summer vacations or jobs and
will be separated. And once again, they will share the traveling magical pants.
Tibby is off to a special film school program for teens, and Brian keeps
visiting her because he likes her (but she hasn't a clue).
Carmen's mother Christina is dating a guy from work and really falls in love;
however, Carmen is jealous and hates her mother now.
Lena broke up with Kostos out of fear but is deeply regretting her decision, and
she is fighting with her mom about a secret past.
Bridget gained weight and no longer plays soccer. She is hiding from life, and
she decides to go in disguise to visit her long lost grandmother in Alabama.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
This sequel is just as gripping as the first. Full of real life situations
and decisions, it will keep the reader engaged, not wanting to put the book
down. The ending causes some tearful moments for the girls as well as the reader.
