Prince Ironheart, Charles, who is on a quest in
the forest to find the Sleeping Beauty
Aurore is the narrator telling the tale. It starts out like most versions, with
the long awaited birth of an heir (Aurore) and a curse laid upon her by an
"evil" woman, then a counter spelled by a "good" woman. It also includes a
troublesome, enchanted forest, although this one is not exactly like the one in
the traditional tale, it treats those with evil in their hearts poorly and helps
those with goodness in their heart.
Time gets all mixed up in this forest; and the male characters - those
with interest in Aurore, i.e. the princes - are different from the traditional tale. Dokey also conjures up
some surprises in the prince charming area.
I would recommend this book!
Why?
Anyone who likes fairy tale retellings, fantasy, or romance stories should
read this book. It is a fast read and the ending may surprise some readers.
Two quotes from the book "Keep what you hold in your heart safe and strong" and
"Evil is what is made to flourish" represent the major themes, besides love,
in this book.
