One Book, One Community 2021 – Events

The Massillon Public library is proud to present this selection of events for Stark County’s 2021 One Book, One Community program.

Kindness Bingo
February 1 – March 3
Channel your inner Mr. Rogers and spread kindness throughout our community while playing bingo! Each Bingo equals one entry for a prize! More Bingos, more entries! Get your Bingo card at the Reference Desk at the Main Library, at the Circulation Desks at the Askren and Belloni branches, or online.

Hello, Neighbor!
February 6 – 11:00 a.m.
How can kids be good neighbors during these difficult times? Inspired by Mr. Rogers and his neighborhood, our Children’s Programmers will help kids create “Helper Neighbor” door hangers, “You’ve Been Loved!” surprise bags to distribute in their neighborhoods, and tie-dye masks to protect their neighbors! We’ll also take a quick video tour of the library’s interesting downtown neighbors and hear a fun story!

Kindness Rock Painting
starting February 8
A special “Take and Make” craft will be available to the first 20 participants who visit the library to pick up a free supply kit.

Book Discussion
March 3 – 6:00 p.m.
The Massillon Public Library will host a live book discussion via Zoom about the 2021 One Book, One Community book selection of I’m Proud of You: My Friendship with Fred Rogers by Tim Madigan. Registration is required and will close at 11:59 p.m. on March 1.
